About Dr. Apfel 

Dr. Apfel received his doctorate degree from Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery.  While at Columbia, Dr. Apfel was chosen for the coveted "Periodontal/Prosthodontic Concentration Program".

He completed a residency at the Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in 1985 and joined the hospital staff as a clinical instructor in the Department of Dentistry.  Dr. Apfel currently is the Co-Director of the "Dental Implant Fellowship Program" at North Shore University Hospital and the Chief of Prosthetics in the Department of Dental Medicine. He lectures to dental societies on complex implant reconstructive procedures and aesthetic dentistry, and has published restorative implant protocols in leading professional journals. Dr. Apfel is an assistant Clinical Professor at New York University College of Dentistry.

He is an active member in the Dental Society of the State of N.Y., the Suffolk County Dental Society, the F. Spear Study Group, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Apfel has received a fellowship in the "International Academy For Dental-Facial Esthetics", and was one of two Long Island aesthetic dentists featured in the premier edition of "New Beauty Magazine" for cosmetic enhancement.  In February, 2006, Dr. Apfel became the first dentist on the east coast of the United States to restore a complete dentition on dental implants using Nobel Biocares Teeth in an Hour; a revolutionary new computer software. This first-of-its-kind procedure was televised live and featured in Newsday.
